The culture of energy provides us with useful knowledge in our day to day, both as professionals in the sector and as citizens, as it helps us to interpret the world around us. However, energy is a complex subject, due to the great variety of existing energy sources as well as the numerous sciences and disciplines that converge in its analysis and study.

The libraries and documentation centers participating in the Energy Documentation Committee, belonging to institutions and companies of great relevance in the sector, are specialized Information units (see Specialized Libraries Websites and their networks, of the Ministry of Culture) that cover very specific areas of information and knowledge, whose purpose is to collaborate with your institution or company in the achievement of the objectives set. In the development of their functions they handle a large amount of information, sources and documents of great value .

In this sense, libraries and documentation centers have taken advantage of this privileged position to collect this knowledge in the elaboration of the Energy Directory. The result is a collaborative work of elaboration, in which each Library contributes its experience and professionalism, compiling the main sources of information related to its work areas. Each center covers one or more areas of the directory, thus offering an updated and real vision of the main sources of information in the sector.

For all these reasons, the ENERGY DIRECTORY is a collection of resources and primary sources of information on energy and the environment, both nationally and internationally, and which, due to their value, deserve to be highlighted. It is a search engine for specialized information sources, whose main objective is to provide information and transfer knowledge about energy to the research community and the general public.

The dissemination of information in science, technology and energy is extremely important; hence it is essential to facilitate access to its sources. Thus, from this directory, you can search, select and download many updated documents online (full text, referential, statistical data, etc.), in addition to browsing the various websites and specialized portals (see Specialized Libraries Websites).
